NAME : NADZATUL NADZIRAH BINTI NORJEPRI

CLASS : 4 FARABI

SUBJECT : INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY(ICT)

TEACHER'S NAME : PUAN ANUM BINTI MAHAT

OBJECTIVES

1.Gain more information about computer system

2.To know the processing cycle in computer

3.To know the computer system'devices

a)What is computer system?

A system of interconnected computers that share a central storage system and various peripheral devices such as a printers, scanners, or routers. Each computer connected to the system can operate independently, but has the ability to communicate with other external devices and computers.,

b)What is input and input devices?

Input
Whenever you enter data into your computer, it is referred to as input. This can be text typed in a word processing document, keywords entered in a search engine's search box, or data entered into a spreadsheet. Input can be something as simple as moving the mouse or clicking the mouse button or it can be as complex as scanning a document or downloading photos from a digital camera.
Input devices
An input device is any device that provides input to a computer. There are dozens of possible input devices, but the two most common ones are a keyboard and mouse. Every key you press on the keyboard and every movement or click you make with the mouse sends a specific input signal to the computer. These commands allow you to open programs, type messages, drag objects, and perform many other functions on your computer.

           Keyboard

       Scanner

        Microphone

          Mouse

         Logitech wireless trackball

        Touch screen

         Digital video camera

               Webcam

c)What is process and processer?

Process

Instance of a computer program that is being executed. It contains the program code and its current activity. Depending on the operating system,a process may be made up of multiple threads of execution that execute instructions concurrently.

A computer program is a passive collection of instructions, a process is the actual execution of those instructions. Several processes may be associated with the same program, for example opening up several instances of the same program often means more than one process is being executed.

 Processor

Processors or word processing program, does exactly what the name implies. It processes words and allso processes paragraphs, pages, and entire papers. Some examples of word processing programs include Microsoft Word, WordPerfect (Windows only), AppleWorks (Mac only)and OpenOffice.

The first word processors were basically computerized typewriters, which did little more than place characters on a screen, which could then be printed by a printer.Modern word processing programs, however, include features to customize the style of the text, change the page formatting and may be able to add headers, footers, and page numbers to each page. Some may also include a "Word Count" option, which counts the words and characters within a document.

d)What is storage and devices storage?

Storage
Refers to computer components and recording media transfer.Whenever you enter data into your computer, it is referred to as input. This can be text typed in a word processing document, keywords entered in a search engine's search box, or data entered into a spreadsheet. Input can be something as simple as moving the mouse or clicking the mouse button or it can be as complex as scanning a document or downloading photos from a digital camera.
Storage devices
A computer storage device is any type of hardware that stores data. The most common type of storage device, which nearly all computers have, is a hard drive. The computer's primary hard drive stores the operating system, applications, and files and folders for users of the computer. There is two common storage :
Primary storage
Hold data in memory(RAM and ROM)
                                                          Random Access Memory(RAM)
                                                                              Read Only Memory(ROM)
Secondary storage
Holds data on hard disk, tapes and other devices requiring input/output devices.
                                                                                                     Zip disk
       Diskette

Pendrive
Flash Memory
                                                                        Smart Chip

e)What is output and output devices

output
Data generated by a computer is referred to as output. This includes data produced at a software level, such as the result of a calculation, or at a physical level, such as a printed document. A basic example of software output is a calculator program that produces the result of a mathematical operation. A more complex example is the results produced by a search engine, which compares keywords to millions of pages in its Web page index.

Devices that produce physical output from the computer are creatively called output devices. The most commonly used output device is the computer's monitor, which displays data on a screen. Devices such as the printer and computer speakers are some other common output devices.
Output devices
Any device that outputs information from a computer is called, not surprisingly, an output device. Since most information from a computer is output in either a visual or auditory format, the most common output devices are the monitor and speakers. These two devices provide instant feedback to the user's input, such as displaying characters as they are typed or playing a song selected from a playlist.

                                                          printer

                                                          monitor
